This guide serves as an explanation of the current roles within Overlay Discord, how to get those roles, and how to maintain those roles!

Overlay Team

• This is a full time role for core team members.
• Overlay community members can be hired to the core team by continually producing beneficial and high need work to the protocol. Getting along with the internal team, being a good steward of the project and using your skills to move the protocol along are all highly sought after. Bringing good vibes is key!

Community Manager

• This is a small group of dedicated community members who’s responsibilities include helping community, onboarding new members, being active and helpful in discord, answering common questions, and maintaining a happy and fun vibe. They can kick, timeout, and ban members.
• Community Managers get a monthly USDC stipend as well as 200 Cred per month for their contributions to the DAO.
• At this point, manager power is somewhat limited in the Discord, however it will grow as Overlay morphs into a true DAO.
• The Community Management role currently has 4 members. To become a manager, you must be promoted by a core team member.

PlanckCatDAOcat

• A member of Planck Cat DAO. This member has access to the DAO’s private channel within the Overlay Discord, and Snapshot voting rights for the direction of the protocol.
• Must hold at least one PCD to obtain role.
• Community members can earn a PCD through the Overlay Cred Challenge, and by being active and helpful in the Discord.

Community Mods

• Community mods can kick, ban, and timeout other members. They are expected to be moderators of Overlay Discord. This includes anything a moderator would typically be asked to do: keep the server clean and fun, delete and ban spam, help direct and point community to helpful resources and answer questions.
• To become a moderator, you must request to become one, then there is a waiting period of 1 month. At that point, if no one objects to you becoming a moderator, you can become a mod.
• At this point, moderator power is somewhat limited in the Discord, however it will grow as Overlay morphs into a true DAO.

Overlay OGs

• This is a small group comprised of some of our earliest supporters (before Discord, before Telegram, before 2019 even). This group is mainly just for fun and so the team can ping these frens with cat gifs once a year 😼 .
